Cryptolestes ferrugineus, Flat Grain Beetle


The Flat Grain Beetle is very similar in appearance to the Rusty Grain Beetle but can be differentiated by the shape of their antenna. The Flat Grain Beetle has straight antenna whereas the Rusty Grain Beetle has curved antenna. It can be found feeding on stored products such as dried fruits, grains and nuts. It lays around 300 eggs on average and deposits these within the grain.
