Necrobia rufipes, Red-legged Ham Beetle

The Red Legged Ham Beetles are strong fliers and have a black abdomen with brown legs and prominent antennae. They can be found on the similar foods to the Hide Beetle, which includes protein rich foods such as dried fish, nuts, skin and meat. This beetle has a particularly long life in comparison to other stored product insects and can live over 12 months laying more than 1000 eggs in that time.
