Sitotroga cerealella, Angoumois Grain Moth

The Angoumois Grain Moth larvae feeds on and develops in stored grain kernel and occasionally in fields. The moths have roughly ½ inch wing spread and are pale brown in colour. Infested grain develops a bad odour and with warmth and humidity the moths reproduce and develop more quickly. The female will lay roughly 40 eggs and can have anything from 4-12 generations per year.
